Truckful of Joy!

This post is long over due my apologies in getting it out late.
Penelope Francoise Derr arrived July 3, 2007 at 10:18AM weighing in at 9lbs. 3oz. 22.5 inches. A little more than a bundle of joy I'd say. The doctor who delivered her referred to her as the "Bully of the Nursey".Any number of these percentile charts put her at 95th percentile in weight and over the 100th percentile (however that is possible) in length. But we aren't competitive or anything. Did I mention she has huge hands and feet?
We've taken to calling her any number of monikers including: Penelope, Pipi, Pen, Pig Pen, Nele and at times "princess sh***y pants" all with affection I assure you. We are trying to avoid "Penny" but these things evolve on their own accord some times.
Mother and daughter are doing great! We have been having small daily outings, walks around the neighborhood or to the mall (a girl's got to shop even at her age). I have been doing laundry like a fiend as well as changing my share of diapers. Within the first few days I hit the new parent trifecta by being pooped on, peed on and puked on.
A special thanks to all the well wishes, wonderful gifts and emails we've received we are all quite touched and can't thank you enough. We'd also like to give a shout out to the Springfield Community Hospital Birthing Center as the care we received was awesome.
Thats about all the news we have at the moment.

Finally my site is done... for now

If you have been a frequent visitor to the site thank you and I am sorry. Not exactly stellar content I know. A six month redesign which culminated in me admitting I would never write my own web log software, instead I joined the google collective and got a blogger account and just pull the feed down using xml and some PHP hackery;) There is more I could do with it and I hope to in the future but who knows I'm just happy to have something that looks complete.
In other news our roof is finally done which has allowed us to plant around the house without fear of our hard work being obliterated by debris or contractors. Natalie picked up some nice flowers whose name I cannot remember (see photos for identification). We were impressed with what a little splash of color can add to the front of the house.

In baby news, codename Lucy Petunia is scheduled for arrival July 4th OR anyday now if you believe what the books tell you.
Come back for more updates!
